Lynn Oberholtzer

November 1, 1946 - January 3, 2022

Constance Lynn Oberholtzer, 75, of Kell, passed away Monday morning, January 3, 2022, at Salem Township Hospital. She was born in Salem, on November 1, 1946, the daughter of James and Norma (Mount) Riley. On October 12, 1975, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she married Vincent Oberholtzer, and he survives in Kell. Lynn was a Kindergarten teacher at Summersville Grade School, where she was affectionately referred to as Mrs. O. She previously taught for many years at Grandview Heights Christian Academy, in Ephrata, PA. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Alvernia College in Reading, Pennsylvania, and served as President of the Adamstown Women's Club in Adamstown, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Oberholtzer was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Team Kids, and MOMS. She was best known for her smile, and loved Jesus, her family, and her students. She made everything fun, and made everyone feel special. In addition to her husband, Vincent Oberholtzer of Kell, she is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Alvis and husband Tony of Kell, and son, Ryan Oberholtzer and wife Veronica Espina of Springfield; six grandchildren, Ryan, Austin, Maddy, Aidan, Norah, and Rowan; three great-grandchildren, Jake, Emmy, and Scottie; two brothers, Mike Riley and wife Bonnie of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Steve Riley of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and one sister, Lori Riley of Evansville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Norma (Mount) Riley. Funeral Services for Mrs. Oberholtzer will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Osborn Funeral Home, in Dix, with Rev. Jason Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service, Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, Illinois 62830.
