Arliss Jean "Jeannie" Anderson

Arliss Jean “Jeannie” (Soger) Anderson, 65, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with liver disease. Jeannie was born on January 11, 1961, in Texico, Illinois, to Gary Lee Soger and Phyliss Knauss Soger. A graduate of Eastern Illinois University, she earned her master’s degree in Counseling from Cincinnati Christian University. While there, she met the love of her life, Tim Anderson. The two shared 39 years of marriage built on faith, service, and deep love. For the first 21 years of their marriage, Jeannie and Tim served together at Crestview Christian Church and then East Win Christian Church in Memphis, Tennessee. During that time, Jeannie also worked as a counselor at Youth Villages, Rapha treatment center at Lakeside Hospital and then in private practice, dedicating her life to helping children navigate grief and trauma. It was in Memphis that they welcomed their only daughter, Laurel Katherine, who remained Jeannie’s greatest pride and joy. In 2007, Jeannie and Tim moved to their home in Georgetown, Indiana, where she embraced homemaking, and continued pouring her love into those around her. She was known for her big heart, her compassion for others, and her deep love for creativity. Jeannie found joy in baking, creating cake pop art, and painting. She especially loved the color red and cherished the Christmas season—especially the music, the movie Elf, and, most of all, the joy of giving gifts to others. Jeannie and Tim also faithfully served together at Crossroads Missions, an organization that held a special place in her heart, and Stony Point Christian Church, where her husband serves as the minister. Jeannie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Tim Anderson; her daughter, Laurel Katherine, and her husband, Justin; and her unborn grandson, Arlo Swan Pearcy. She is also survived by her father, Gary Lee Soger, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyliss Soger, and her brother, Jay Soger. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, at Stony Point Christian Church from 5:00 to 7:00 PM EST, with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 4, at 11:00 AM CST at Donoho Prairie Cemetery in Texico, Illinois.
